SpeakingJohn has spoken for audiences as large as 1000 people and as small as a local breakfast group in his community. His twenty years in law enforcement have given him ample experiences to draw from. His particular interests lay in mental health and resilience for LEO, Organizational culture and change, personal growth and self expression as well as leadership.

ConsultingJohn holds a masters degree in leadership in management. He has run two police departments and been part of change management efforts for other agencies. John's particular talent is in looking at the task at hand, seeing how it fits into the larger picture and working to find practical and implementable solutions for comprehensive change.

TrainingJohn's training experience is wide from being a martial arts, ropes courses and skiing instructor. This experience formed his unique teaching style of taking larger concepts and delivering them in manageable pieces. He has also taught at the New Hampshire Police Academy. He is a self described systems thinker and brings this to his training. He views learning as a discovery to be a partner in and most enjoys having the material be relevant and relateable to the student's personal and professional lives.

In 2016 a close friend of his left law enforcement due to post traumatic stress. Chief Monaghan realized they had left a man on the battlefield and that this was an unacceptable but far too common practice in his profession. In that time he has worked with partners to cultivate knowledge and develop training to de-stigmatize the stress working in law enforcement can bring. He is dedicated to ensuring we all go home safe in body and mind. And that we actually thrive in the face of trauma through Post Traumatic Growth.
